They should look at Notts County developments to convince them*

Swansea supporters should take note from Notts County’s recent decline in the League Two standings that Luke Williams is a capable manager and that patience is required.

Luke Williams’ time at Swansea City hasn’t started off perfectly, but in recent weeks, there have been hints that the former Notts County manager might be able to help the team rediscover who they are.

The club’s performance since being appointed at the beginning of January has been inconsistent. The team has suffered some significant setbacks, including a 5-0 FA Cup loss away to Bournemouth and a 4-0 home loss to Leeds, but they have also showed flashes of their potential.

The most notable outcome was a 1-0 victory away to play-off contender Hull City. With this weekend’s South Wales derby approaching, the team is only five points above the Championship relegation zone.

Williams’ management abilities at Swansea have been called into doubt, but it’s evident from the team’s decline in League Two after his departure that he’s a capable manager.

Following the team’s victory over Chesterfield in the play-off final, Williams was named manager of Notts County in the summer of 2022 and guided the team to promotion to the National League.

With 107 points at the end, the team became the first in England to score 100 points or more without receiving automatic promotion. The Magpies were merely unlucky to be in the league with a fantastic Wrexham team at the same time as them.

Williams’ Notts County team did well in League Two despite having just promoted, and when he left for Swansea, the team was fifth in the league and vying for promotion to League One.

Swansea fans should use this as proof that Williams is an excellent manager since the team has plummeted in the league table since he departed Meadow Lane.

It would be reason for alarm if the Magpies had made significant progress since he left, but instead they have dropped to 17th place in League Two.The fact that they have only won one league game since Williams left for Swansea demonstrates how successful he was in keeping the team in the running for promotion.

There is no reason why Williams can’t work his magic at Swansea again soon with a little perseverance.
