Body found in search for missing man in Oldham

Four days after the 79-year-old man went missing, his body was discovered during the course of his search. On Tuesday morning, July 30, David Hazeltine was reported missing from Oldham.

Police raised fear that the 79-year-old, who had Alzheimer’s, might have gone missing without his prescription, and numerous appeals to locate him were shared online.
On July 30, at approximately 10.26 a.m., he was seen by CCTV strolling along Manchester Street in Oldham, heading towards the town centre.

Tragically, on Wednesday morning (July 31) emergency services were called to concern for the welfare of a man on a footpath near Westwood, in Oldham.

Police and paramedics attended however David was pronounced dead at the scene. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
