A man has been arrested after a 72-year-old woman was raped in her home in Greater Manchester.
The attack happened at the woman’s flat in Oldham at about 18:00 GMT on 20th June.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in police custody for questioning.
The woman was confronted by a man who said he needed to check her flat, when she went downstairs to answer the door at the communal block in Unsworth Way.
She tried to refuse him entry, but he got through the door and followed her back to her flat where he raped her before fleeing.
Det Insp Danny Inglis from the Oldham Volume Crime Team said the assault was “truly despicable”.
