Oldham woman charged after 12-year-old boy suffers ‘life

A 41-year-old woman has been charged after a dog attack left a 12-year-old boy with “life-changing” injuries.

Paula Jenkins is charged with two counts of having a dog that is dangerously out of control and causing harm to others.

The 12-year-old was injured on Wednesday at around 11.30 a.m., according to Greater Manchester Police, on Villa Road in Oldham.

“Serious injuries, believed to be life-changing,” were left on him.

Additionally, a 31-year-old lady was attacked and is receiving care. It is not believed that her injuries are life-threatening.

Following the dispatch of armed police and a dog unit, the animal was “safely detained” at a kennel.

The dog’s breed was a secret at this point.

The dog pursued the child on his bike, an eyewitness who contacted 999 told the Manchester Evening News.

Anj, 31, told the newspaper: “The kid came from behind our house. He was on his bike and came down the road and the dog was following him. I thought it was his own dog at first.

“I took my eyes off them for a second but then I heard screaming and when I looked over it was jumping all over him.

“It was an aggressive dog and only a little kid. He got off his bike because the dog was jumping at him.”
