Horrific in Oldham car crash as victim, is named

On Thursday night (August 1), a young guy was murdered in a “horrific” automobile crash in Oldham. His neighbours hurried to help. At approximately 11.40 p.m., an automobile on Greenacres Road collided with several other vehicles, resulting in the death of the victim, who is currently identified as 26-year-old Atif Zaheer.

According to Greater Manchester Police, the automobile overturned after colliding with two stationary vehicles. Unfortunately, despite the rescue services’ best efforts, Atif was declared dead at the site.
Two men, both in their 20s, have been taken into custody on charges of driving dangerously and causing death. They are still being questioned by police.

The M.E.N. was informed by a representative of Rochdale Coroner’s Court that their office received a file today, August 2, under the name Atif Zaheer.
Nearby Derwent Walk resident Eileen Shaw reported hearing a “horrific bang” at approximately 11.30 p.m. She described it to the Manchester Evening News as “unbelievable.” “Everyone was on the street when I descended. It was chaotic, with everyone racing out.

Shortly later, Ms. Shaw claimed, she noticed a forensic tent in the middle of the road as emergency personnel were on the site. “It’s unfortunate, I can’t believe it,” she continued.

Ghous Ghoulam, a resident of Derwent Walk as well, called the situation a “disaster.” He claimed to have seen a man laying in the road receiving first aid from onlookers.”I heard the alarms on cars and the bang. It made a loud noise,” he said. Seventy to eighty people out into the street. The Range Rover was upside down and one car was stacked on top of the other. It’s a catastrophe. It’s quite depressing.

Greenacres Road was blocked off next to the cemetery throughout today’s  morning, There is an ongoing police investigation, and witnesses are being asked to come forward.
DC “This is a tragic incident where a young man has lost his life, and our thoughts remain with his family and loved ones,” stated Alex Giblin of the GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit. Officers with specialised training will be there to support them at this difficult time.

“Although we are working nonstop to find them answers, I kindly ask anyone with knowledge or who may have seen the incident to come forward and assist us with our enquiries. This might be dashcam, CCTV, doorbell, or eyewitness film from the scene. Everything is useful to us establish how a young man lost his life in such distressing circumstances.
