Man raped by three in ‘targeted attack’ in Oldham

In Oldham, three men beat and sexually assaulted a man. Following the attack that happened on Friday night at approximately 5:55 p.m. in the area of Wrigley Head in Failsworth, Oldham, police have now opened a thorough investigation to find the perpetrators.

According to the police, the victim was approached by three men, who then physically and sexually assaulted her. According to officers, there is no risk to the general public and they believe this to be a targeted attack.

“We are currently looking to speak to three men in relation to this incident,” a statement from Greater Manchester Police stated. “They are described as black men in their 30s who have an athletic build, black and white neck scarves around their necks, and black hair.” Two men, one with jeans on and the other with trousers with pockets.

“Officers are also keen on identifying anyone who was in the area around that time – this includes anyone who may have any relevant doorbell, dashcam, or CCTV footage from around the time of the incident.”

“Our specialist officers are supporting the man involved in this incident and we are doing all that we can to provide the appropriate care that he needs at this time,” stated our Oldham District Detective Inspector Andrew Day.

“We acknowledge that this will cause concern, but we want to reassure everyone that we are committed to pursuing these crimes and that we are still looking into all possible avenues of inquiry to find the people who are responsible.

“There will be more police officers in the area, and I would like to encourage the public to speak with our officers if they have any further concerns.
