This year, OXFORD United reduced its agent fees by over £125,000, according to new Football Association data.
Including intermediary and agent fees, the U’s spent £254,705 between February 1, 2023, and February 1, 2024.
This amount represents a decrease from the £381,828 that was expended in the preceding year, when United was ranked fifth in Sky Bet League One.
However, Derby County is once again in the lead in the League One agent fees spent table, with the U’s currently ranked ninth.
After the Rams (£434,465), Reading (£397,788), Fleetwood Town (£396,184), and Blackpool (£395,345) spent their money.
In the third tier, Cambridge United spent the least on agent fees, spending a total of £15,680. A total of £5,127,913 was spent in League One.
Along with the permanent additions of Greg Leigh, Jordan Thorniley, Alex Gorrin, Josh McEachran, Owen Dale, Ruben Rodrigues, Max Woltman, Will Goodwin, and Mark Harris, United’s expenditures also included new contracts for Simon Eastwood, Ciaron Brown, James Golding, Sam Long, Elliott Moore, Stephan Negru, and Tyler Goodrham.
The FA figures also include the names of loan signings James Beadle, Jay Matete, Kyle Edwards, and Stan Mills.
