National Highways said the A34 remains closed in both directions between the A420 and the A423 (Hinksey) for the ongoing vehicle recovery.

The A34 remains closed in both directions between the A420 & the #A423 ##Hinksey for the ongoing vehicle recovery.
There is congestion on the approach to the closure from the southbound direction and around the Headington and Wolvercote roundabouts.
Diversion: Southbound via the A420 past Cumnor and A338 through Marcham using the solid triangle signage and northbound via the solid diamond signage around the Oxford Eastern Bypass.
According to National Highways, the implicated HGV is still being recovered at the location.
After this is finished, evaluations of both carriageways will be necessary.
Bus operator Thames Travel has posted on X/Twitter that the closure is “not directly affecting most of our services”.
However they anticipate that it will cause delays across its network.
Customers should allow additional time for your journey.
Due to a previous lorry fire and barrier repairs from A420 (Botley Interchange) to A423 Southern By-Pass Road (Hinksey Hill Interchange), the A34 is closed in both directions.
There is a backlog of traffic on the southbound carriageway.
Diversion: via the solid diamond signage around the Oxford Eastern Bypass, and southbound via the A420 past Cumnor and the A338 through Marcham.
