Bureta Faraimo, a former winger for the Parramatta Eels, has declared that he is looking for a new club where he can play rugby league.
The winger is now without a club after leaving the NRL at the end of 2017 after stints with the New Zealand Warriors and Parramatta Eels. He last competed for Doncaster in the RFL Championship, the English Super League’s second division.
He managed to score nine tries in fifteen first-grade games prior to heading overseas. But since coming to England, he’s played alongside Doncaster for Hull F.C. (2018–21) and the Castleford Tigers (2022-23).
“I’ll pretty much look everywhere.” I’m hoping that someone would think highly of me and want to have me on their squad,” he said to League Express.
I’ve been dabbling in rugby union, and I’ve wanted to get more involved in it. Rugby league is something I will always be interested in, no matter how I handle that.
He continued, “I’d be keen if they found any interest in me,” on a possible transfer to the Salford Red Devils of the Super League.
According to Rugby League Live, Red Devils coach Paul Rowley has placed an ad to locate a replacement for injured Irish international Ethan Ryan.
In addition to scoring nine touchdowns in 15 games during his NRL debut with the Eels in 2014, he also excelled with 31 tries when competing for the Mackay Cutters in the Queensland Cup.
The Wellington-born winger won the title of NSW Cup Player of the Year in 2014 and was included in the NSW Cup Team of the Year.
Despite playing in just two games for the Eels in 2016, he averaged over 100 metres each game and made an incredible 289 metres in addition to crossing the line for a try.
