Due to tendonitis, Kangaroos forward Cameron Murray was rule off to play in the Pacific Cup final versus the Kiwis.
The South Sydney star has been dealing with a hamstring tendon problem all season, according to coach Mal Meninga, but it became worse during Wednesday’s practice.
Meninga stated before to the game, “We knew Muzza was carrying some tendonitis on the top of his hamstring.”
“He’s been carrying that injury all year so he’s been playing with it but unfortunately at our session on Wednesday it fired up again a bit and we couldn’t quite get it right for the game.”
A groyne strain prevented Sydney Roosters lock Victor Radley from playing for England in the third and final Test match against Tonga at Headingley.
Due to a calf injury, Fijian and Panthers flyer Sunia Turuva was unable to play in the Pacific Bowl final versus Papua New Guinea.
Connelly Lemuelu, a forward for the Dolphins, had a knee injury while travelling with Toa Samoa for the Pacific Championships. He will undergo more testing on the knee.
Dom Young, a recent addition to the New Roosters, will not play in England’s Test series against Tonga due to a sinus ailment that required hospitalization.
Young is reportedly doing better and should fully recover in time for the 2024 season start in Las Vegas for his new team.
Penrith eighteenth Jarome Luai underwent surgery to realign his dislocated shoulder towards the end of the season, and he played his way back into the premiership decider and preliminary final.

Both Jack Bird and Jaydn Su’A, two other Dragons, are healing from shoulder ailments, but they should be well enough to play when the trial games begin in February when they resume preseason training.
