This morning in Rottingdean, a motorcyclist from Brighton lost their life in an accident.
A Peacehaven driver was taken into police custody this afternoon after being suspected of causing death by unsafe driving.
The Sussex Police released a call for witnesses.
According to the force, “Police were called to a collision involving a car and motorbike at approximately 7am on Friday, June 6.”
On Falmer Road in Rottingdean, where the two cars had crashed close to the intersection with Court Farm Road, emergency personnel were summoned.
After being transported to Royal Sussex County Hospital, the motorcyclist, a 29-year-old Brighton resident, tragically passed away from his wounds.
“A 35-year-old Peacehaven resident is the driver of the Nissan Juke; he has been placed under arrest on suspicion of causing death by hazardous driving.
“He remains in custody.”
Sergeant Vicki Rees said: “We are appealing to anyone who was driving through Rottingdean on Thursday morning and saw what happened or captured anything which might help on their dash-cam.
