Plymouth Argyle hunting for new investor to target Premier League
Simon Hallett, the chairman of Plymouth Argyle, says the Pilgrims are looking for a new investor to help them qualify for the Premier League.
He’s laid out his five-year strategy for Argyle, one of which is to secure a spot in the Championship’s top six.
“We are going to need a lot more capital because part of the mission requires it, and more capital means that I will be giving up some control,” Mr. Hallett stated.
“I hope it doesn’t mean I’m going to have to give up the chairmanship, because I like being the chairman of Plymouth Argyle.”
Through a strategy based on five major pillars, he stated that the goal is for the club to be respected in the South West and beyond.
1. “The purpose of the fan, visitor, and partner experience is to establish a setting in which our partners, supporters, and visitors feel appreciated, involved, and emotionally linked to the team.
2. “Financial Strength – with a goal to keep running sustainably and invest in important areas that have been identified to give the club long-term financial development and strength.
3. “Brand and sense of place: Argyle is committed to forging an identity that is distinct, compelling, and closely rooted in its historical, cultural, and geographic origins.
4. “People are the foundation of all we do, and they will implement this new approach. They so constitute our fourth pillar, which we will implement in order to establish Argyle as the region’s and the world’s employer of choice by fostering an atmosphere that enables our employees to flourish both on and off the pitch.
5. “Efficiency and ways of working with decision-making being process-oriented and data-led, enabling us to outperform competitors on and off the pitch.”
