Improvement notice for Children’s Services closed

The Minister of Children, Families, and Wellbeing has formally lifted the Children’s Services Improvement Notice that was sent to Plymouth City Council in May after the Ofsted targeted visit in December 2022.

The Minister acknowledged the noteworthy advancements in the service, especially those brought to light by the most recent Ofsted inspection, in a letter addressed to the Council. The Minister expressed confidence that the Council will carry out the remaining areas of development in the future.

“It is good news that the Improvement Notice has been lifted,” statedy, David Haley Director of Children’s Services. “I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work, determination, and commitment to bring about the improvements recognised in the Ofsted report.”

“We’ve offered assurance that we’ve laid the groundwork for a quality service and that we’ll keep moving forward with our improvement process. I am happy that the Minister acknowledges our course of action and expresses confidence in our ability to further enhance the service.

“We are not complacent and remain totally focused on our plans that will result in an outstanding service for Plymouth’s children.”
