Plymouth Argyle team news as key player ruled out”

Adam will miss out on playing for Plymouth Argyle against one of his former clubs, Leeds United, in the Forsha Sky-televised Championship match at Home Park tomorrow lunchtime (12.30pm).

A hamstring injury has sidelined the seasoned midfielder, who spent last summer playing for Norwich City after leaving Leeds in the Premier League. Additionally, Darko Gyabi, who is on loan, is unable to play against his parent club.

That implies that Jordan Houghton and Adam Randell will probably start in central midfield for Argyle against a United team that is riding high right now, having won seven straight league games.

After suffering an ankle injury, Houghton returned to the game late in Wednesday night’s 2-2 Championship draw at home against Coventry City.

Only Forshaw’s third game since joining the Pilgrims last month was last Saturday away to Sunderland, where he was substituted in the second half of the team’s 3-1 loss because of a knee problem.

But in a press conference this morning, Ian Foster, the head coach of Argyle, stated: “He has a hamstring issue. He feels fine in terms of symptoms, but tomorrow is too soon.

Since it’s a hamstring, we need to exercise caution. He became aware of it during the Sunderland match. He plays Adam in such a way that his first-half running for Sunderland was lightning fast.

“He doesn’t stop moving. I thought he was playing really well, so it’s bad for him, but these kinds of things happen and give other players a chance.

“I believe you witnessed Wednesday night’s outstanding performance by Adam Randell, who filled in for Adam (Forshaw).

“We are quite happy with the way he is performing right now. We’ll take care of Adam Forshaw and see to it that he returns on schedule.”

“The timing of Jordan’s return is critical to us,” Foster continued. Once more, it was merely an unlucky training-related ankle injury, and he hasn’t had many workouts. This is a result of the number of games we’ve played and the little time we’ve had to get him out on the practice pitch.

He is happy that his wife gave birth to their second child, but he has also missed a session. Although I’m not sure how much sleep he’s had, he’ll be prepared to go if chosen.”

It won’t be much more than sixty hours since Argyle drew with Coventry, and Tuesday night’s matchup against second-placed, who defeated Swansea City 4-0 on the road, will be their sixth game in fifteen days.

Foster stated: “We will talk to the medical staff this morning to make sure that everyone is good and then make the choice on the starting, and then go and implement it on the grass. It’s not ideal on a matchday minus one to still be assessing where everybody’s at.

“There’s a rapid turnaround. Wednesday night’s quarterfinals ended in a 10 to 1. All we need to do is exercise caution when it comes to how many games we divide up.”
