John Mousinho Warns:Portsmouth isn’t the place for you to be:Boss

John Mousinho’s message to his players is evident because EFL League One leaders Peterborough United, Derby County, and Bolton Wanderers are now able to pass them.

Pompey must handle the strain of salvaging their disintegrating promotion push, according to John Mousinho.

Additionally, the Blues manager issued a dire warning, saying that if his team doesn’t turn things around and prevent their faltering Championship push from totally collapsing, time will run out.

The team led by Mousinho was humiliated 3-0 by Leyton Orient on Saturday. During a disastrous 20-minute spell, they gave up three goals in the first half and failed to convert a penalty.

As a result, there has only been one victory in six League One games and one from seven throughout all competitions.

Bolton now trails by two points with three games remaining, while form team Peterborough may pass Pompey, who trail by one point after one fewer game. With two games remaining, Derby is four points behind in fourth place.

With the fire stepped up, he has now called on his players to demonstrate the minerals to turn things around.

“The pressure is there every single day and has been there since the first day of pre-season,” Mousinho stated. It hasn’t altered from the first game I attended versus Exeter, in my opinion, which has always been there.

At this point in the season, we haven’t earned anything.

“Having pressure is a wonderful thing, but given our poor form, I would much rather be competing at the top of the league and fielding questions from our fans.”

We’re still leading, so I’d much rather have those requirements. Portsmouth isn’t the place for you to be if those demands don’t appeal to you.

Pompey will now play three away games, during which they must improve their performance in order to prevent their worries from ending their automatic promotion aspirations. They will obviously need to immediately get rid of characteristics that were blatant on a day that marked the lowest point of Mousinho’s 12-month stay at PO4.

He went on, “We were a yard off everything out of possession and we were really wasteful in possession.” That was summed up by the second and third goals, a yard off that in the box.

We consistently got corner after corner, hitting the first man or placing the ball in the goalkeeper’s hands. Orient has weaknesses; they identified and effectively countered them. It was very unfortunate that we had to pay the fee.

To shift the dynamics and put pressure on Orient, we needed to score, but we failed to do so. We applied pressure on Orient, but we never appeared to be in danger of conceding the goal.

That wasn’t a representative of our daily activities. We need to acknowledge that we were deficient and that the last six games’ performances weren’t up to par.

You don’t turn into a nasty person over night, but if we don’t act now, time will also pass extremely rapidly.
