Portsmouth boss on ‘sad’ Reading FC off-field issues

Prior to the first match between the two clubs in more than ten years, Portsmouth manager John Mousinho described the circumstances at Reading as “sad.”

Many fans are anticipating the pre-match protest, where up to 1,000 people may march from the town center to the SCL Stadium, because they think the outcome of the match is inevitable.

This comes after six years of neglectful ownership from Dai Yongge, with the club accumulating 16 points of deductions under his stewardship for financial mismanagement.

Portsmouth, who had their own financial issues of their own in the 2010s, have not visited Berkshire since 2012- the year Reading won the Championship and Pompey were relegated to League One.
