Portsmouth goal hero’s chilling warning to Derby, Bolton and Barnsley’

The Blues are now nine points clear of third spot in the automatic promotion places

Colby Bishop fired a chilling warning to Pompey’s League One rivals and insisted: We’re getting better and better.

The Blues rattled up their sixth win in seven League One matches following a 4-1 triumph over Reading

The scoreboard may not always reflect the true situation, since the Royals controlled play and possession up to Paddy Lane’s goal against the flow of play in the 37th minute.
Despite Charlie Savage’s late consolation goal, Marlon Pack, Callum Lang, and Bishop scored more goals in a devastating second half to ensure a comfortable victory margin.

And with his team currently nine points clear of third place, John Mousinho’s 16-goal top scorer is confident that performance levels can go even higher.

“The second half was so good,” he said to The News. At Fratton, it seems like the ball will never stop going into the net once you get on top of it.

Though we weren’t always against Reading and at times we were a little careless, we know what we’re capable of, and we stick together as a team.

“We can improve even further, and we are improving.” The league would be finished if we were flawless, and I am confident that we can continue to improve.

“Reading is a good team with some really good players; they’re really tough to play against.” All we needed to do was figure it out, get our press on point, and we gave them trouble.

It’s simply incredible that we have guys who can break, like Paddy, Callum Lang, and Abs, but you also have to consider the people who are left out.

With just 12 games remaining, all we need to do is keep winning and focus on ourselves. Ideally, other players will give up points, but ultimately, if we win, the game is ours.

With one game remaining, Derby is one point behind the Blues.

With three games remaining, Bolton’s draw with Charlton has put them nine points behind.

Bishop went on, “The owners have supported us and brought in some very good players, and we have an incredible squad.” Callum and Myles have both performed quite well since joining, while Owen Moxon was outstanding tonight.

“It’s a serious team when you consider that 11 players are injured this year.”
