Woman dead after car goes off cliff in Prescott

The woman was flung from her car when it crashed into a cliff close to Prescott on Wednesday, and she died as a result.

Deputies from the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office were called around 5 p.m. regarding reports of an automobile that had crashed into a cliff while traveling on Thumb Butte Road, roughly two miles from its intersection with Copper Basin Road.

The car was located by deputies some 1,000 feet down the sheer cliff.

Deputies discovered the car’s driver, 39-year-old Kristin Little, who had died after being flung from the vehicle approximately halfway down the mountainside, after they had hiked down.

Drones operated by the YCSO and a DPS Ranger helicopter were dispatched to explore the area for further victims; however, no one was discovered.

Owing to the difficult terrain and darkness, YCSO remained with Little until early on Saturday. Next, she was brought to the office of the medical examiner.

Little’s car went off the road and down the mountain as she made a left turn while traveling north on Thumb Butte Loop Road, according to the YCSO. There is a continuing inquiry into the crash.
