Five people in contention for coach as Preston North End coach leaves*

After almost ten years of devotion to Preston North End, a crucial element of the academy setup has announced her resignation from Deepdale.

Melissa Brown, the Lilywhites’ Foundation Phase Lead (under-7s to under-11s), departed after being hired head coach of Manchester United’s women’s under-21 squad.

Brown joined her local club in 2014 as Head of Health and Wellbeing and left in 2019 to become a member of the academy coaching staff. James McGown, who served as Preston’s Academy Performance Analyst & Lead Pre-Academy Coach in the past, has now taken over her position.
“After nearly a decade working at PNE, five of those coaching within the academy, it’s time to move on to pastures new,” Brown wrote in her LinkedIn.com announcement of her resignation. I’ve had the honour of mentoring several exceptional football players and even better young men, all of whom I know will achieve great things.

‘The cards, gifts, and comments from teammates, parents, and players have overwhelmed me entirely. Unending gratitude to the players for inspiring and motivating me every day, the staff for helping me, the parents for believing in me, and the club for believing in me.

There names will be mentioned here.
