Preston North End’s principal sponsor for the past three years, Chorley-based Plastic and Rubber (PAR) Group, has been sold to a Preston-based business.
PAR, a family-owned manufacturer and supplier of engineering plastics, insulation and rubber products, has been bought for an undisclosed sum by R. and G. Fluid Power Group, which is based on the Roman Way industrial estate.
Established in 2017, R. and G. has 40 UK divisions providing bespoke engineering, gaskets and seals, hose and couplings, hydraulics and pneumatics.

R. and G. is a division of parent company Diploma, which is an international distributor of specialised products and services in the controls, seals and life sciences sectors.
Blackburn-based accountants and business experts Beever and Struthers advised on the deal, and Preston-based attorneys Napthens handled the legal side of things.
“PAR is a longstanding client of Beever and Struthers; the shareholders have built a successful business and achieved substantial year-on-year growth and profitability,” stated Dean Curtis, corporate finance director at Beever and Struthers.
