Franck Haise, the coach of RC Lens, believes that Oscar Cortes’ move to Rangers is “on the right track,” as the Scottish Premiership giants are gaining ground on the £4 million striker.
A deal to sign Fluminense left-back Jefte fell through on the penultimate day of the winter transfer window because of his season-long loan at APOEL Nicosia, which prevented Philippe Clement from joining the team. However, Rangers don’t seem to have the same issues as they try to get another highly-rated 20-year-old over the finish line before tonight’s play ends.
According to The National, Oscar Cortes was in Glasgow on Wednesday.
It is anticipated that Rangers will sign the international player from Colombia prior to the deadline, bringing Cortes in on loan only half a year after he left Millionaires for French territory.
After turning down several offers from lower-division teams, Cortes appears eager to transfer to Scotland, and Lens coach Franck Haise says that things are moving in the right direction.
“We received offers from Ligue 2 clubs at the beginning of the month,” Haise said to La Voix du Nord. However, Oscar and his group were not amenable to leaving.
There are still several unanswered details regarding Rangers. But we’re headed in the right direction.
