Doctor issues injury news on Rabbi Matondo ahead of Rangers v Real Betis:

Rangers attacker Rabbi Matondo is still working his way back to full fitness after being out for weeks with a knee injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that he will work on strength and conditioning sessions and individual drills in order to get him back to full match sharpness.

Gers will be training in the build up to the Europa League clash against Real Betis on Thursday and the Welshman is expected to be involved in that game.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

It’s hard to give a timeframe on returning to pre-injury levels because each player is different when it comes to finding their form and rhythm along with regaining fitness.

The key will be for Matondo to continue to work daily on those things, through both strength and conditioning sessions along with training with the group.

There will be certain drills in training in order to help him with match sharpness.

Matondo made his return to the first team towards the end of November and has been used sparingly by Philippe Clement since then.

In most games, he’s featured 20 minutes or fewer and only in the Saturday, 9 December clash against Dundee, did he play one full half of football.

There was plenty of rotation for that one, so the 23-year-old is likely to return to the bench again for the Europa League clash.
