Former Rangers star could leave current club after just six months
A former Ranger star signed for his new club in the summer – but he could be set for early exit in January.
Ryan Kent, a former fan favourite of the Rangers, signed a free transfer to Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce in the summer of 2023. However, new rumours indicate that he may already be planning to leave Ulker Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
Although it is unlikely that he will leave the squad permanently, it is possible that he will sign a loan to play for another team. Though their identity is still unknown, one English team is rumoured to be interested in exploring this option.
The Liverpool academy graduate is apparently not impressing Fenerbache head coach Ismail Kartal, who is said to have told their club board of his disapproval of the player.
As such, it appears unlikely that Kent’s already limited playing time at Sarı Kanaryalar will be set for an increase any time soon. If this is the case, then a loan move away makes sense at this stage.
Has Ryan Kent been a flop at Fenerbahce?
With just one goal and two assists in his 14 games for Fenerbahce since his August arrival, Kent is not a very good player. He has only contributed goals in cup tournaments; he has not yet scored or assisted in any Turkish Super League games.
In addition, he has only made one start throughout the league; all of his other games have been as a substitute. He has only played in the league for 36 minutes since September.
It’s safe to conclude that his time at Fenerbahce has not gone as planned, especially in light of his manager’s harsh assessment of him. He may now regret leaving Rangers, where he was a vital member of the team. His next location is unknown, although it appears likely that he will leave Turkey sooner rather than later.
