Ex Rangers who spent four years at Ibrox to ”return”Ibrox news

According to transfer rumours that have surfaced from Turkey, Ryan Kent might make an unexpected comeback to the Rangers in January.

Journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu of Sports Digitale tweeted on Wednesday, November 15, that Fenerbahce intends to move the 27-year-old out on loan as soon as the transfer window opens.

He went on to say that two teams are monitoring the winger’s situation: one from Scotland and one from England, most likely the Gers considering his prior ties to the squad.

Kent joined Ibrox in 2019 after leaving Liverpool, and he stayed for four years before becoming one of the top performers in the Scottish Premiership.

Throughout his 218 games in Glasgow, the Englishman notched 33 goals and provided 56 assists, sparking rumours about his future almost every transfer window.

But many were surprised when, at the end of the previous season, he was let go when his contract expired, even though he had played in 40 games and contributed three goals and ten assists.

The winger signed a four-year contract with the Turkish team in June, and he later joined Fenerbahce on a free transfer. However, things haven’t gone smoothly for him in Istanbul yet.

Since joining the team, which leads the league on goal differential, he has only started one of the club’s 12 Super Lig games.

Kent has made 14 appearances for his new team, although his solitary goal came in a July Europa Conference League qualifier against Zimbru Chisinau. He has also recorded two assists.

His performance hasn’t exactly won him over to Fernbache manager Ismail Kartal or the supporters of the team, thus a January transfer may be imminent.

It’s unclear if Philippe Clement would be truly interested in signing Kent, but given his familiarity with the team and the league, it would be something to consider.

The Gers may be interested in the idea of loaning him, since the Turkish side is rumoured to be amenable to it, as it would be a pretty low-risk move for them.

The form of Abdallah Sima, a Senegalese winger who has scored nine goals in 22 games this season, may be the biggest obstacle preventing him from returning to Ibrox.

Nonetheless, Clement is eager for competition, so if the chance arose, this transfer wouldn’t be wholly out of the question does arise ahead of the January window
