Exclusive: Rangers told to complete four January signings after landing £20m jackpot

Rangers must target upgrades in the striker, left-back, right-wing and midfield positions this January.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers and Scotland defender Alan Hutton was adamant that Philippe Clement will be looking to improve these areas of his “bare bones” squad.

After Clement’s outstanding start at Ibrox, the Gers are keen to balance the roster. It is reported that they spent a reported £14.7 million this summer on former manager Michael Beale’s transfer targets, including Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers, and Danilo.

Additionally, sources told Football Insider on December 15 that they plan to prioritise signing a striker in January.

Hutton stated that a center-forward was the most important position out of the four.

He told Football Insider, “The striker is the main position they need to strengthen.”

Borna Barisic is the player occupying the left back position. Then, will Ridvan Yilmaz be competent enough?

There has been discussion regarding the attacking three’s right side. Although Ross McCausland has performed incredibly well since joining the team, he is under a lot of pressure to play every week.

“I believe he is capable, but you would require some assistance.”

Rangers are missing key players due to injuries and suspensions, even in the midfield.

“Clement will be inspecting certain areas, and no doors will be closed.”

In other news, a Rangers expert shares what “I’ve heard about Clement” from the training ground, saying “fans are going to be excited.”
