Rangers attacker Rabbi Matondo may return to action after the international break from a knee injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
Having been out of action for the previous few months, the injury specialist believes that if all goes according to plan, he will resume training over the break.
Additionally, he can experience a setback, in which case, he might be absent for a few weeks or, in the worst case, months.
Physical therapist and sports scientist Brar spoke exclusively with Ibrox News about his circumstances. He said:
“He’ll probably resume training during the international break if he returns after the break.
Considering how long he has been away, his reintegration will go gradually.
In the worst scenario, he can miss months of time due to a recurrence or another injury while regaining his fitness.
This season, Matondo has played 169 minutes in league action, making two starts and three more appearances off the bench.
He has one goal and two assists, so once he’s fully recovered, he’ll have to compete for a spot.
His final game was in September, when he played just 38 minutes and contributed an assist against Motherwell.
