‘Here We Go’ – Fabrizio Romano: Rangers deal in place to complete January signing:

Rangers have reached an agreement with Wolves to sign Fabio Silva on loan, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer expert shared an update on the out-of-the-blue transfer development on his personal Twitter page on Thursday (28 December).

Romano revealed that Silva is close to signing the contract that will keep him at Ibrox until June, although there is no option for a permanent deal included.

Manager Philippe Clement and director of football Nils Koppen are said to have played a crucial role in pushing the deal through.

Get in there

Rangers fans have been hopeful of bringing in at least one new signing in the January window, but nobody expected the first of those deals to be wrapped up so swiftly.

This has been a fast moving development, with reports emerging via Italian journalist Luca Bendoni earlier on Thursday (28 December) that either Celtic or Rangers would snap up Silva.

Within a few hours, it has now been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano – as good as official confirmation from a club website in this day and age – that the Gers have got to his signature first.

Rangers

Silva may have lost his way at Wolves, but he is still a hugely talented forward and will undoubtedly bolsters the Gers’ ranks for the second half of the campaign.

With Cyriel Dessers possibly off to the Africa Cup of Nations and Danilo once again sidelined, a forward player was needed in January.

Given the window has not yet officially opened, there is now real hope of another player – more, even – being brought to Ibrox in the coming weeks.

Ahead of such a massive game against Celtic, this is a great way to keep the feel-good factor alive.
