Injury Update: Rangers Reveal injury outcome……

The Scottish Daily Mail reports that inquiries are in progress at Ibrox to identify the cause of Rangers striker Kemar Roofe’s injury problems.

While some players are making their way back to the pitch after extended absences due to injuries, the Light Blues are still looking for the “root cause” of Roofe’s fitness issues, according to an article published in the newspaper’s print edition on November 1st, page 69.

Roofe last played for Rangers on October 8 in a 3-0 victory over St. Mirren. He was replaced just after the hour mark and hasn’t played since, with the exception of being one of the replacements in Philippe Clement’s inaugural game as manager against Hibernian.

Since arriving at Ibrox, Clement has questioned the squad’s fitness. The Jamaican striker has struggled to avoid injury throughout his time in Glasgow, making only three appearances in the Scottish Premiership last season due to a knee injury that required hip surgery [Sky Sports, 10 March].

Concerning

Many Rangers players are struggling to stay healthy this season, but because of his injury problems from the previous campaign, Roofe is the most notable illustration of the team’s present situation.

When healthy, the striker has shown to be an immensely valuable asset to the team. Despite the team’s dismal start to the season under Michael Beale, the 30-year-old was one of the more talented players in an otherwise inept attack force.

However, from the sidelines, he is of no service to anybody, therefore the Rangers must find a method to get him back into the lineup as quickly as possible. But it is far more difficult to recover from an injury when the forward’s condition is unknown.

With any luck, the Light Blues’ ongoing investigations will reveal what is keeping Roofe from playing regularly at Ibrox. Only then will he be allowed to start playing again and put a stop to this awful fitness run.

Fortunately for Clement’s team, Danilo has recovered enough to challenge Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers in attack, and they have plenty of depth in the forward areas. If the summer additions begin scoring goals, Rangers should have enough offensive skill to handle Roofe’s prolonged absence.
