Late VAR decision for Rangers ‘doesn’t look good’

The disgruntled Aberdeen manager said he told the referee, “I hope you have got it right,” and that the Ibrox team receiving “another” late VAR call in their favour “doesn’t look good.”

He claims that without the “too many bad decisions in Scotland,” his club would be playing at a better level.

James Tavernier’s goal in the 93rd minute gave Philippe Clement’s team a point back after Bojan Miovski had given them a 1-0 lead in the first half.

After Nick Walsh was summoned over to the monitor and Robson expressed concern that “we are in the trouble if this is the way it’s going to go,” Connor Goldson was given a spot-kick for pulling his shirt.

“There was a lot of talk about pulling shirts at the VAR meeting, and I think the referees all said that not every one is a penalty when there is a pull of the shirt inside,” he said after the game.

Barry Robson has hit out at officials after his team were denied three points by an injury-time penalty call against Rangers.

The spot-kick was awarded for a shirt-pull on Connor Goldson after the Nick Walsh was called over to the monitor and Robson worries that “we are in the trouble if this is the way it’s going to go”.

After the game he said: “At the VAR meeting there was a lot of talk about pulling shirts, and I think the referees all said that not every one is a penalty when there is a pull of the shirt inside.

“Stefan got blocked, I think we all seen that, but obviously have just not bothered taking a look at the block and just looked at the pull of the shirt.

“I think we are in trouble if this is the way it’s going to go.

“For me it just doesn’t look good another VAR decision going for Rangers in the 90th minute again, it doesn’t look good.

“I’m just frustrated. So many decisions haven’t went against us this season and I think we could be sitting in a much better than we are. But we keep going.”

The former Scotland midfielder had words with Walsh after the game and he revealed what he said to the official.
