Philippe Clement has revealed a fresh injury blow ahead of the Rangers games against Sparta Prague and Livingston this week.
According to the Belgian, he has a minor injury and will probably miss the games on Thursday and Sunday.
However, he did not reveal the name of the player while speaking at the second Fans forum held at New Edmiston house on 7 November.
Four Lads Had a Dream quoted him saying, “Ahead of Prague, You want to build from game to game, you want to give players a chance but we miss a few from the European squad. One player is unavailable but I will not tell you who.
“Minor [injury] but may not make it Thursday or Sunday.”
Blow
Rangers just cannot seem to catch a break with their injuries and the fact that Clement is not revealing the name means it’s perhaps a fresh blow.
There did not seem to be any serious concerns from the win against Hearts and something might have happened in training.
Whether or not it’s a devastating blow, remains to be seen, but one can understand why Clement is coy about this.
It remains to be seen who the player is and unless there is independent reporting, fans are unlikely to find out who it is.
Clement would’ve wanted a full strength side for the Europa League clash and it now remains to be seen who replaces the injured player.
Hopefully, it does not scupper their plans as qualification is far from a foregone conclusion.
Home advantage can be vital as Ibrox is absolutely buzzing on European nights and the fans certainly will play their part in getting the team over the line.
