Rangers linked to six players as Clement’s first window expectations rise Rangers News

There has been little concrete reportage on who the Belgian manager wants to bring into the club with the coach himself insisting he is still observing the squad

Although Rangers’ £21 million summer expenditure hasn’t yet paid off, there is still plenty of the season left, and Philippe Clement has given the team new hope.

Here are six names we’ve spotted making headlines, and they may be the final spark for victory at the end of the season: a skillfully performed

January window.

Clement eyes-up Rangers transfer talents

Rangers supporters will be particularly aware of two of the transfer links, even though some of the other names on this list are more familiar.

The first is Nathaniel Adjei, an international centre back from Ghana who plays right now for Hammarby of the Swedish Allsvenskan.

According to reports that first appeared on Sky Sports, Rangers, along with Old Firm rivals Celtic and many English Championship teams, are keeping an eye on the 21-year-old defender.

The Belgian youth international Noah Mbamba, a teenager from Bayer Leverkusen, previously collaborated with Philippe Clement at Club Brugge.

TEAMtalk claims that Rangers’ aspirations for a loan deal for Noah Mbamba have put them ahead of Manchester City, who are interested in signing the young player on a long-term basis.

In recent seasons, Rangers have made good use of the loan market; Cole Palmer, a Chelsea player linked to Ibrox, may have been one that slipped away.

A return for two familiar faces?

There are rumours circulating about the possible comeback of two Ibrox stars in addition to the pretty fascinating connections to Adjei and Mbamba.

First up is Ianis Hagi, a star playmaker in Europe who is presently on loan from Rangers and playing for La Liga team Alaves.

The attacking midfielder’s post-injury redemption narrative is underway, and supporters are taking notice as he returns to the Romanian team and leads the country to Euro 2024.

There is now a lot of coverage on Ianis Hagi because he recently inked a new contract with Rangers last season and Alaves has no buyout option.

Even though the Rangers stated that the agreement was only valid until “the end of the current season,” fan pressure to recall players is growing.

Ryan Kent is another player who is having trouble in Turkey after joining Fenerbahce in the summer.

According to reports originating from Turkey, the footballer might be signed on loan by one English and one Scottish club in January.

Naturally, rumours of a possible comeback have surfaced to Rangers.

Rangers non-starters?

There are also a few choices that seem a little too ambitious as Philippe Clement prepares for his first transfer window with Rangers.

First, Jhon Arias, a Colombian winger who led Fluminense to Copa Libertadores triumph, was featured alongside Rangers.

The problem is that Wolves, West Ham United, and Crystal Palace are all mentioned in the same TEAMtalk report as possible suitors, so Rangers aren’t the only team being connected.

Upon considering the possibility that Sporting Lisbon had a bid of £17 million for the winger during the summer, the Rangers connections appear somewhat overly ambitious.

There’s also the chatter around Lawrence Shankland and whether Rangers should’ve made the transfer even before Philippe Clement took charge.

Tipped by Rangers legends in every direction, the striker’s form has reignited a debate surrounding his signature which is being played out almost daily in the media.

Netting on international duty with Scotland, Rangers continue to be mentioned alongside the striker but a January move continues to look highly unlikely.
