Rio Ferdinand has called out BBC pundit Michael Stewart after he refused to support Rangers in their allegations of racism against Slavia Prague.
The BBC pundit called for patience and said he is “uncomfortable with proceeding ahead” until UEFA conclude their investigations.
In Ferdinand’s eyes Stewart has cast doubt over the situation by not taking a strong stance and siding with Rangers and Glen Kamara, in the face of testimony and evidence.
He took to Twitter to fire back at Stewart, saying, “Educate yourself @mstewart_23 … comments like this are why people suffer in silence & are scared to speak out!”

It is vital that solidarity is shown to the likes of Kamara and Kemar Roofe at this time.
A banner has been unveiled outside Ibrox depicting fans support for the pair and social media has been awash with like-minded people backing Kamara in particular.
Stewart always has to be the odd one out when it comes to Rangers and unfortunately he has previous for this kind of thing.
In February 2020 Stewart also cast doubt on Alfredo Morelos’ accusation that some sections of the Celtic crowd directed racist abuse at him.
Ferdinand is right, if players are treated with this kind of reaction there is a risk they will be silenced.
Instead, it is important the media and fans alike acknowledge what has taken place, particularly as it seems highly likely that Kamara’s allegation is true. Why would he lie and why would he have reacted like that?
Now Stewart needs to clarify his comments and also show his support for Kamara as it is indifference that will allow UEFA to sweep this incident under the rug.
He should be calling on Slavia Prague to be open and for the players who may have heard what was said to be honest.
That is the only way out of this sorry situation.
