Rangers “on the edge” as Philippe Clement gives Ibrox update….

Ibrox boss Philippe Clement has ruled four players out of the League Cup semifinal matchup against Hearts due to injury, leaving Rangers star Ben Davies “on the edge” of a comeback.

A lot of mention was made during the Belgian coach’s team report prior to the Hampden match regarding the former Monaco manager’s dissatisfaction with the squad’s physical preparation.

Many sound bites have suggested that Philippe Clement is not happy with the level of fitness in the team he took over from Michael Beale. Ben Davies is one of numerous players who constantly walk the tightrope between injury and recovery.

Following his absence from the thrilling 4-0 triumph against Dundee, Philippe Clement hinted that Ben Davies’s availability to play for Hearts would depend on several factors.

The Rangers manager was also full of praise for Leon Balogun, who played a masterful center back at Dens Park.

“I didn’t take chances with Ben Davies because he had a minor issue (against Dundee),” Clement told the media prior to the match against Hearts.

Additionally, I don’t take chances like that, despite what the medical professionals informed me, saying that letting him play was risky.

“I believe in this squad.” You have to offer guys chances if you want to assemble a team with more than 11 or 14 players, and Leon Balogun seized the opportunity.

“Ben Davies will usually return (against Hearts), but it’s still very close.”

Ben Davies may join a quartet of injured players, according to Philippe Clement.
Rangers manager Philippe Clement was speaking with Ben Davies about his injuries as well as the other problems inside the team.

As it stands, four Rangers players will undoubtedly miss out as Philippe Clement tries to bring his club back to full strength.

“I can tell who’s not in, but I’m not thinking too much about who was out,” Clement remarked. “For now, that’s simpler for me.

None of the following will be up for selection: Kemar Roofe, Rabbi Matondo, Nicolas Raskin, and John Souttar.

“And the rest, hopefully, if all goes according to plan and they are available to be included in the selection.”

Rangers are getting ready to play Hearts at Hampden to go to the League Cup Final, where Aberdeen will play the winner.

At Hampden, the Dons overcame Hibs 1-0 to secure their spot in the highlight Final, which is scheduled on Sunday, December 17.
