Rangers seven-figure cash boost confirmed after initiative update

Rangers MyGers scheme was announced with great pride by the club, seen as a membership project to match the biggest, and best, in Europe.

The primary reason it is here to stay and won’t be going anywhere has been revealed to fans in the most recent update: money.

Rangers MyGers, which was introduced to offer a tier system for European tickets, cup finals, and other major games, has now reached the point where it is a reliable source of income.

Ibrox’s capacity, which includes corporate tickets, is currently at about 51,000. Renovations to the hospitality areas and the disability area are causing this number to grow.

According to an email sent to members, the number of MyGers has surpassed the sales of season tickets and is now 48,306, which is almost the same as the capacity of Ibrox. However, this number is lower than the 53,000 peak of the previous season.

That means Rangers are banking between £1.75 million and £2 million from MyGers, based on an average yearly cost of £40 (young members pay less, season ticket holders pay more).

With Ibrox the sort of facility that didn’t sit empty for most of the week.

New restaurants and a partnership with Gordon Ramsey has seen that dream become a reality.

Rangers fans will continue, probably, to moan about what is seen as a supporter tax, for loyal supporters who travel home and away to guarantee that they can still get tickets for the big games, however, with these figures, it’s going nowhere.
