The Jambos’ star man has been on target against both Brendan Rodgers and Philippe Clement’s sides in recent outings for the capital club and has continually been mentioned by pundits about a move to Glasgow.
Pundits are still speculating about Lawrence Shankland joining Rangers or Celtic, suggesting that the two teams could make a move for the Hearts captain.
The Jambos’ star player has recently played for the capital club, scoring goals against both the teams of Philippe Clement and Brendan Rodgers. He will go on the Light Blues once more this weekend when he leads his team at the national stadium in the Viaplay Cup semi-final. They lost both games, 4-1 and 2-1.
Despite having scored seven goals so far this season, it hasn’t been as productive as anticipated. He scored 28 goals the previous season, but he wasn’t only a goal scorer—his support and link-up play had much improved.
Oh is the only true backup for Kyogo Furuhashi, thus both teams may consider entering the transfer market in January to increase their firepower. Cyriel Dessers is still having trouble at Rangers, while Danilo has just returned from an injury.
Green Brigade is barred from Celtics games as the team provides a detailed six-part explanation.
Craig Moore, a former Ibrox player, stated on The Go Radio Football Show:
“We know he’s going to score goals domestically.”
He scored a fantastic header against Rangers at the weekend, however it needed some improvement.
Is he able to walk? Nonetheless, I believe he would have to put in more effort in a better setting.
That may be the case, but he is a goal scorer, and Rangers need to be interested in him. I believe the region requires additional in-depth analysis.
“He’s got good physical strength, and I believe he’s gotten better over time. He now connects the play a lot better.
He is a large, powerful lad who is skilled at pinning and shielding the ball from a central defender. He engaged in that behaviour with Davies a few occasions.
“But most importantly he scores goals and I think that would continue at a club like Rangers should they make a play for him.”
Speaking from a Celtic perspective, fellow pundit John Hartson continued, “I think they’ll sign a striker in January, no doubt about it.” Regardless of whether he has been tried and tested, Oh hasn’t got a lot of game time. We haven’t given Oh a close examination.
“Shankland, though, is another; he scores goals. A few weeks ago, against Celtic, he scored an incredible goal. Additionally, he scored a fantastic header (over the weekend), demonstrating his versatility as a goal scorer.
Even though he has only scored two goals this season, he is a goal scorer and can be a threat for you, therefore I wouldn’t want to place a price on his head.”
The topic of conversation then shifted to the probable cost required to acquire the Tynecastle captain, and both the former Rangers and Celtic players offered their opinions.
Moore started with: “Rangers and Celtic have a surplus of players and potentially you could do business that way because Hearts will have a decent price in mind because they don’t want to lose their captain and main striker unless it’s of real value to them.”
“I don’t think he’d cost a fortune,” Hartson continued. If he relocated south, I believe Hearts would likely receive a higher price for him because Scottish teams don’t usually shell out a lot of cash for a player who plays for another Scottish team.
