A New Twist Emerge in the Reading FC takeover with Government officials involvement

Clive Jones, the Liberal Democrats’ parliamentary candidate for Wokingham, expressed his happiness that Reading FC had announced it had entered exclusive negotiations to acquire the club.

The club confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that it is in a period of exclusivity with an undisclosed party over the sale of the club, signalling the end of Dai Yongge’s reign after several months of what appeared to be little progress.

“For Reading FC, its devoted supporters, and the local community, this is absolutely fantastic news,” stated Jones.

The training facility’s inclusion in a possible sale is crucial for the club’s long-term success.

“I hope that in the upcoming weeks and months, terms can be worked out, and a new owner is prepared to make a sizable investment in the team that will lead to Reading Football Club having a bright future.”

The sale of the team, the Select Car Leasing Stadium, and the training facility at Bearwood Park are all part of the possible agreement, according to a statement from Reading FC.

The transaction could take up to two months to complete.
