Mark Bowen issues strong message to Reading FC fans”

Reading FC head of football operations Mark Bowen had issued a message to supporters as the team heads into the final 10 games of their League One campaign.

Only a few days after the club was docked two points, Ruben Selles’ team defeated Carlisle United on the road, putting them in 16th place with 39 points.

Since Dai Yongge assumed ownership of the team in 2017, the Royals have dropped six of their 18 points this season.

Bowen sent a statement to the Royals supporters. “We’ve just finished another incredibly challenging week for the team, the players, the staff, and you, our amazing supporters,” he stated.

“I’m constantly in awe of the unwavering support you provide for us.

“Ruben, the players, and I feel that this is the ideal moment to express our sincere gratitude to each and every one of you.

“And with ten games remaining, that TOGETHERNESS, which I’m sure we can all feel, is going to be of big significance in order to secure our League One status.”

Bowen also provided an update on the takeover procedure, stating that he thinks the club’s sale is “progressing.”

“The sale of the Club is moving forward, thanks to Nigel Howe’s assistance and knowledge,” he said.

“There have been a tonne of inquiries, most of which have been about the Club’s real estate holdings, particularly Bearwood Park and the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

“Although every suggestion is taken into consideration, Nigel and Mr. Dai’s main goal is to sell all of the Club’s assets, therefore we must be patient and let the right procedure be carried out. I appreciate STAR’s assistance with our communication, and I am aware that Nigel keeps them updated on a frequent basis.

“With 152 years of history behind this amazing club, I am confident that we can all contribute significantly to building a prosperous future.

So once more, I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to EVERYONE of you with just ten games left.
