Former Reading CEO, and current Property Projects Manager, Nigel Howe, believes Wycombe Wanderers’ pursuit of Bearwood training ground ‘is now over.’
Howe was the club’s chief executive during its ascent from the third division to the Premier League in the 1990s and 2000s. He was tasked with finding the team a new buyer.
Last week, rumours circulated that the Chairboys were interested in purchasing Bearwood, establishing an exclusive period, and pledging to provide the team with immediate financial support in order to prevent point deductions.
“We had a small disruption last week, which was regrettable. I vaguely recall that the owner got a very large offer, around the same amount as he was being offered for the entire club, even though I wasn’t there. Now that the confusion around the training ground’s sale has been removed, we can proceed with the other proposals we have.”
