25 League players at risk of ban including Reading key man.

For many League One players, it’s squeaky bum time as the possibility of punishment looms large.

It seems sense that, as the season approaches its third quarter, bookings are starting to accumulate and the possibility of a ban is getting closer.

Of course, Pompey has already been negatively impacted by the five bookings rule this season, which entails an automatic one-match suspension for a player.

Regan Poole and Alex Robertson received bookings against the Chairboys, which prevented them from playing in the Blues’ subsequent match against Port Vale, even though they had already received four yellow cards going into last month’s Wycombe match.

Fortunately, Pompey’s depth allowed them to defeat the Valiants 2-0 despite being without both important players.

Not every squad, though, can afford such luxury. With Marlon Pack now sidelined due to injury, the table-opposing Blues would hate to lose midfielder and interim captain Joe Morrell at this time.

The Welshman was sent off against Peterborough in September after receiving two bookings, and he has now completed one match ban. He has already had four bookings this term, so one more yellow will see him back in the stands for another game.

Fortunately, any reservations made for this weekend’s FA Cup matches are transferable to the league. But who else in the division may miss a crucial game in the upcoming weeks that could mean a lot to their team?

This is what we found out.
