Clowns descend on Reading fans protest against owner Dai Yongge’

HUNDREDS of clowns descended on the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Saturday as Reading fans conducted more protests against owner Dai Yongge.

Having already staged protests including throwing tennis balls onto the pitch, marching through the streets of Reading and a pitch invasion during their contest with Port Vale, the Royals fans protested in a different style at the weekend.

In an attempt to protest Dai Yongge’s poor club management, fans were spotted dressing up as clowns and donning wigs, face paint, and clown masks.

“In our eyes Dai Yongge is a clown and he needs to hurry up and sell the club to someone who will invest wisely and drag us out of the mess he’s created,” said Nick Houlton, a spokesman for the pressure group Sell Before We Dai.

Since we take pleasure in being a family-friendly club and recognise that not all fans find protests that disrupt games to be comfortable, we want our most recent protest to be something that everyone can support, enjoy a little fun with, and send a strong message to the club’s owner.
