The latest Portsmouth team news as John Mousinho’s side gear up to face Reading in League One tomorrow afternoon.
Portsmouth hopes to extend their outstanding unbeaten streak into this weekend’s matchup with Reading. After 14 League One games, they have nine victories, five draws, and a four-point lead over Oxford United in second place.
The team led by John Mousinho is eager to continue their incredible run here as they haven’t dropped a third-tier match since March.
Reading is currently eight points out of safety in 23rd place after dropping their last four games. Their four-point deduction hasn’t made a difference, and large-scale protests are scheduled for this weekend’s game due to their poor management.
Mousinho said before the game that Portsmouth’s left-back, Connor Ogilvie, would be out for six to eight weeks.
He made his way back into the starting lineup for the 0-0 draw against Cambridge United, although he will miss a significant amount of time due to an ankle injury that he sustained shortly after recovering from a groyne issue.
Tom Lowery and Marlon Pack, for example, are still not in. Christian Saydee practised on Wednesday as well as Gavin Whyte and Sean Raggett, who missed the midweek game due to sickness.
Joe Rafferty has been the team’s primary starter this season, thus he may make a comeback after starting for the week against Zak Swanson. Conversely, unless Ogilvie is dealt a surprising blow, creative ace Jack Sparkes will return in place of the injured player.
Joe Morrell and Alex Robertson may stay together in midfield, although Ben Stevenson is also a possibility.
Future adjustments are possible, and Abu Kamara might gain from a break after starting again against Cambridge United. That would indicate that Christian Saydee moves to the left and Tino Anjorin enters.
Colby Bishop will most likely stay in the top spot.
Tomorrow afternoon, at 15:00, the tie will begin.
