Reading FC sell-out yet another day for inflatable fun..

Almost 2,000 Reading fans have snapped up tickets for the final away match of the season at relegation rivals Burton Albion.

As is tradition, the away end at the Pirelli Stadium will be awash with inflatable toys as the supporters enjoy their final trip of what has been a tumultuous campaign.

1,300 packed out a sold-out away end at Bristol Rovers last night for a crucial 2-0 win over the Pirates, and 1,700 will do battle with the Brewers a week on Saturday (April 20).

With 12 points still remaining, Reading is nine points clear of the relegation zone and is poised to secure their third-tier status for the upcoming campaign. This is noteworthy since, after losing 3-2 at Shrewsbury Town in November, they were 10 points outside of safety.

Inflatables had previously occupied the East Midlands terrace; in 2017, Royals supporters relished their first visit to Burton following their team’s promotion to the play-offs under Jaap Stam.

Winning 4-2 on the final day, Reading won 3-1 on their only other visit to the Brewers.

Martin Paterson’s men sit inside the relegation zone on goal difference, nine points behind Reading but with a game in hand.

Around 700 have bought tickets for Saturday’s trip to promotion-chasing Barnsley, the penultimate away match of the season.
