Reading FC takeover news

In the days leading up to a takeover, Reading is still “hopeful” of being able to grant exclusivity as owner Dai Yongge considers four formal proposals.

Officially up for sale since October, numerous names have been linked with taking over the club as Mr Yongge looks to get out.

Sitting 10 points adrift of safety at the bottom of League One, supporters have spent the last three months campaigning against the Chinese businessman following 16 points being deducted, late wages, missed tax and years of transfer embargoes.

According to reports in the national news, Yongge has come back to engage in takeover negotiations with a minimum of two interested parties.

The Reading Chronicle can officially disclose that Mr. Yongge is considering four formal proposals and plans to provide exclusivity in the upcoming days.

Speaking with the Reading Chronicle, club sources expressed their continued “hopefulness” for improvement at the beginning of the next week.

Mike Ashley, the former owner of Newcastle United, is still connected to the team; almost two weeks ago, his chopper was seen at the SCL Stadium.

Since October, the club has been officially up for sale, and several names have been connected to acquiring the establishment as Mr. Yongge seeks to go.

Supporters have been fighting against the Chinese billionaire for the past three months as they sit 10 points outside of safety at the bottom of League One. This comes after 16 points were taken away from them, late salaries, unpaid taxes, and years of transfer embargoes.
