Reading new owners takeover…..

Matt Rodda, the Member of Parliament for Reading East, has demanded that the legendary former owner of Reading Football Club, Sir John Madejski, serve as “a model” for the next owner.

In an effort to force a change in ownership, Mr. Rodda MP marched with supporters against the club’s owner last month and brought up the issue in the Houses of Parliament.

He has been advocating for the Royals to serve as a trial team for the upcoming independent football regulator, something that the government is now unwilling to approve.

“I really hope that Reading can have a more suitable, responsible owner, like Sir John Madejski,” Mr. Rodda stated in an exclusive interview with the Reading Chronicle. He ought to serve as an example for any future owners. As a longtime Reading supporter and local, Sir John was an incredible club owner who always placed the needs of the team first. We are looking for that kind of individual, not a businessperson who just wants to use the club to generate money.”

After purchasing the team in 1990, Madejski oversaw two promotions from the third division into the Premier League and the club’s 1998 relocation from Elm Park to the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

Despite selling the club in 2016, he is still well-known in the neighbourhood.
