Exciting: Rangers have agree January swoop for Groningen striker

Rangers have lined up a January swoop for Groningen striker Kevin van Veen already ahead of the window, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.

The newspaper said that the Bears are looking into a deal with a promotion bid that is faltering back in Holland in its print edition [December 27, back page].

Though injuries are undoubtedly having an impact, Philippe Clement is still undefeated and on the verge of catching Celtic going into his first transfer window at Ibrox.

Additionally, the newspaper stated [pg 69] that Clement is welcome to sign the towering forward, who would be available in the market for a knockdown fee.

The only real option left for the Belgian in the final third is Cyriel Dessers, as Danilo and Kemar Roofe are both injured once more.

Too many times, Rangers have rejected players who have been proven in Scotland.

During his tenure at Motherwell, Van Veen has more than exceeded expectations, often turning the tables on them by himself prior to his departure during the summer.

That would provide Clement with a ready-made goal scorer without needing to spend millions of pounds, unlike what Michael Beale did in the summer, even if the loan was only for six months until the end of the season.

Although John Bennett has previously stated that Clement will have access to money, this does not obligate him to spend it on everything that comes his way.

It appears that Groningen is prepared to let go of Van Veen already, which should allow the Bears to make their ideal January trade early in the window.

At Ibrox, Leon Balogun has demonstrated that age is nothing more than a number. Should the Dutch striker maintain this level of play, he should have no trouble finding the back of the net.

You should already watch this.
