Reported £13m PSV star sends Instagram message to Rangers hero.

Following James Tavernier’s Hampden double against the Hearts, PSV player Malik Tillman called the Rangers skipper “Mr Set Pieces” on Instagram.

The 31-year-old captain of Ibrox is once again the team’s star player, making headlines on Glasgow’s southside with a penalty strike and an incredible free-kick.

After James Tavernier scored twice, Scott Wright scored a spectacular goal, and Lawrence Shankland added a late penalty to give Rangers a 3-1 victory.

Following his double against Hearts, Rangers captain James Tavernier posted a clip to Instagram, to which Malik Tillman promptly replied.

The former Rangers loanee, who dubbed his former skipper “Mr Set Pieces,” is obviously still keeping an eye on the team’s performance this year.

Malik Tillman praises James Tavernier, the Rangers captain
Malik Tillman, who played alongside James Tavernier under Giovanni van Bronckhorst and then Michael Beale, was one of Rangers’ best players last season.

The USA international spent a year in Glasgow with Rangers when Rangers exercised an option on his loan from Bayern Munich. However, the Germans promptly initiated a repurchase, allowing Rangers to make a little profit.

Malik Tillman would later sign a new deal with Bayern Munich in Germany. After that, he would go on loan to PSV Eindhoven, a rival in the Champions League, who apparently have a £13 million (€15 million) option to buy the player.

It’s encouraging to see that Malik Tillman still has a soft spot for Ibrox despite facing Rangers only months after leaving the team. He was watching as James Tavernier hit a free kick into the upper corner.

Rangers fans and commentators alike are continually in awe of the team’s captain, with one former player, Alan Hutton, calling Tavernier’s performance “incredible.”

With 111 goals to his credit, the Rangers captain will be looking to win the Scottish League Cup when the team plays Aberdeen in December.
