Boss explains reason behind recent player exit*

Dan Sassi has been loaned to Rochdale by Blackpool, according to manager Neil Critchley, in an effort to assist him “acclimatise” to senior football.
Last week, Blackpool gave the young player the go-ahead to join Rochdale in the National League.
Sassi is very much a player for the future at Bloomfield Road as he has a contract with Blackpool through the summer of 2026.

Before returning to his parent club, he will have the opportunity to gain further experience to further advance his development during his temporary move to Rochdale. Whether or not he stays with the Dale for more than four weeks is still up in the air, and it will probably depend on how he performs in their next games.
The center-back was signed by Burnley and Stoke City before being acquired by the Seasiders in 2022. Because of competition for spots in his position, he hasn’t played for his current squad yet, which is why he was given permission to leave.

Blackpool’s play-off chances were enhanced with their most recent 4-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers at home. With twelve games remaining in the campaign, they are now four points out of the top six and sit eighth in the table.

Tuesday night marks the return to action for Critchley’s team as they travel to Leyton Orient.
