Sean Morrison, the captain of Rotherham United, agreed with head coach Leam Richardson that it was unfortunate not to cling onto the lead during Saturday’s setback away to Queens Park Rangers.
The Millers defender said to Radio Sheffield after the two-one loss, “It’s the fourth game in a row that we’ve started very well and to come away with no points again is disappointing.” “We were happy with where we were at at half-time and we knew that QPR would come out and give more in the second half,” the defender added.
We battle to try and win games, but the league is competitive, and you risk punishment if you don’t take your chances. You don’t put in so much effort every week only to show up and lose a game; we want to win games and put points on the board.
Due to pitching difficulties, the Millers haven’t been able to practise at their Parkgate Training Ground in some time. Sean claims that this isn’t helping their cause. But regardless of what we have, this bunch of guys here should make the most of it since nothing will change, he continued. All we need to do is put on our boots and continue, as we have often done.
I’ve been in a lot of changing rooms, and no matter what, these boys won’t throw in the towel. Furthermore, it wouldn’t surprise me if several of the boys here this year stay for the following year.
Who knows who might show up in this season? Which players will stick around if we finish in League One? I would assume that the manager and his coaching staff will be among them. Who must we let go in order to bring in players who can help us next season? Will we be able to pay our players what other teams are willing to pay and retain them? As they say, only time will tell.
