My latest signing is a fantastic professional-Steve Evans

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says that his latest signing Liam Kelly is a ‘fantastic professional’.

Speaking to the Official Site after his seventh new signing had been announced the Millers Boss said, ‘He’s a really good player and a fantastic professional.

‘You look at his qualities, you look at him as a man, as an individual, you look at him fitting into the dressing room he’s just a super signing. We’ve done wonderfully well to get him because the lad had serious options.

‘People will say he’s thirty-four years old, he could be fifty-four the way he plays and our supporters will really take to him. And those who went to Coventry last season and watched the demolition against the Millers Kelly was pulling every string, he was sensational and he will provide many big moments like that.

“Kelly is one of those players who, as a manager of an opposing team, you have to get close to and get around him” after looking at the squad sheet. He simply controls the entire game. He’s just a really gifted young man who can pass the ball really well and get us going when we’re under pressure. He can also put the ball on a toadstool from sixty yards, which is good enough for me. He is aware of some competition, though.

“I think Mark Robins said, ‘I don’t think you’ll get him,’ when I spoke to him about him,” but I met Liam a few times, and we got the chance to go this morning (Friday) early.

This boy sounds like a cross between Mighty Mouse and Superman, to put it politely. For my part, I can’t wait to see him in a Millers shirt on the field.
