Rotherham United FC seals star’s deal with German side Nurnberg

Rotherham United have delved into the transfer market again fetching in winger Joseph Oluwagbemiga Mayowa Hungbo from German side Nurnberg on a season long loan – subject to ratification from the FA, EFL and international clearance.

Born in Lambeth, Joseph came through the youth ranks with Crystal Palace which included him captaining their U18 team. He signed his first contract with the Eagles in 2018 before going out on loan to non-league side Margate. The summer of 2019 saw him join Watford playing for their U23 side as well as making eight appearances for the first team. While with the Hornets he had a loan spell with National League side Aldershot and then had a season long loan with Ross County scoring seven goals in thirty-three appearances. The 2022/23 season saw him play in nine games for Watford, one at the New York Stadium, before having a loan spell with Huddersfield Town.

Last season, the now twenty-four year old, made seventeen appearances in the German Bundesliga 2 for Nurnberg.
